Officers


President

The duties of the President shall be to preside over meetings and to appoint all committees.


Vice Presidents

The duties of the Vice Presidents shall be to perform the duties of the President in the absence of the President. The Vice President of Communications shall serve as Chairman of the Public Relations Committee, shall maintain the website, shall maintain the social media sites for Friend, and shall maintain contact with various persons in the community so as to schedule events.The Vice President of Membership shall serve as Chairman of the Membership Committee, shall recruit new members, and shall keep a current list of members with contact information.


Secretary

The duties of the Secretary shall be to record attendance at all meetings, to take the minutes of all meetings, to notify the members of the time and place of meetings, and to conduct the correspondence of the Friends of the Coppell Public Library. The Secretary shall perform the duties of the President in the absence of both President and Vice Presidents, appointing a temporary Recording Secretary.


Treasurer

The duties of the Treasurer shall be to account for the funds of the Friends, present an annual budget to the Board for approval, monitor the deposit and expenditure of funds in accordance with the approved budget, see that full and accurate records are kept, publish a report at the Annual Meeting, maintain a duplicate set of records for safe keeping in Cozby Library and Community Commons, and file all required reports with governmental authorities.

And a Purpose:
The purpose of the Friends of the Coppell Public Library shall be to maintain an organization of persons interested in libraries, to focus public attention on the library, to stimulate the use of the library’s resources and services, to receive and encourage grants, gifts, endowments and bequests to the library, to support and cooperate with the library in developing library services and facilities for the community, and to support the freedom to read as expressed in the American Library Association Bill of Rights.
